My Favorite Images From 2018
This year was the first time Jayne and I participated in a group tour for our visit to another country. Our time share offered us the chance to experience New Zealand and we decided to do it. I normally prefer driving so that I could spend time shooting where and when I wanted. But with driving on the other side of the road, it was not something that I wanted to do. I did book the services of a private guide for a day before we started our actual tour which allowed me to capture some unusual images.
As a photo artist, this trip was not the traditional way to go about capturing art, but it worked for me. Over the dozen years Jayne and I have been timeshare owners, I have learned to adapt a more fast paced style of shooting, capturing many locations which the average tourist may not visit.
This was also the first year of my new restricted life style due to changes in my health. Although my issues were not life threatening, they were serious enough to change the way I normally did things. Now my pace is slower and more deliberate and more limited. But it has not stopped me. I’ve had to scale back on our hiking and strenuous activity. I did the best I could with the physical resources I could muster this year. So, once again, this year’s images are from two of our travels.
The first three are from the Mesquite area, and the remaining nine are from New Zealand.
Although I was not able to dig as deeply into my art as I would have liked, I was still able to produce!
Happy New Year everyone! Enjoy Life!
It really was, Roy. I think that you would like it!
Amazing work on a place I would love to visit. Perhaps!
Roy
Yes he did. Thanks Judy!
Beautiful. God certainly made some amazing places on this earth.
Thanks, Andrea! I’m sure it brings back memories for you and Scott.
Tough choice for my favorite. I like the first for how bizarre Mother Nature can be to produce something like that, the last Tongariro for the calm of the sheep before the excitement of the mountains, but probably favorite is the last Milford Sound for how majestic the fiords must appear from being in that boat on the sound. Nice job Jerry!
Thanks Judy! Happy new year!
Thanks, Lisa! Happy new year!
Love your work, Jerry. Especially like the third Milford Sound photo. You certainly are talented!
Absolutely gorgeous. I too love the hobbit house with the contrasting colors but also love the landscapes. Shared with mom and dad so they could see too.
I appreciate the feedback, Deb. Thank you! And knowing you, I’m sure you have some great stuff as well. It might be worth your selecting your favorite images from 2018. The exercise may show you a trend in your work that you may not have realized!
Thanks Sandy! Glad you enjoyed these!
They are all gorgeous, Jerry. But my favorite is the sheep with the mountains behind. Love the Hobbit house as well
Jerry – Wonderful, wonderful images. I like each of them for different reasons. I like the green tress in the foreground of the second images – Love the texture of the rocks (or is it bark) on the third images – The Hobbiton movie set house is my favorite as I love the bright colors – The sheep in the bright green grass are great – Love the boat going through the passageway. GREAT WORK! Makes me wonder what I did in 2018!?!
