Just Another Day, 2nd Edition, Statement
Every day she takes a morning bath she wets her hair
Wraps a towel around her as she’s heading for the bedroom chair
It’s just another day……As she posts another letter to the sound of five
People gather ’round her and she finds it hard to stay alive
It’s just another day…
Is today, just another day? Or did we wake up this morning with some particular purpose or intent? Aside from life’s extremes, most of our moments are pretty mundane: another job to do; another game to play; another boring day to pass.
The old Beatles tune above, Another Day, seems appropriate to describe how we all try to get by, living day to day. It really doesn’t matter where in the world we are. We all have to face the consequences of even our minor fortunes and misfortunes. Whether we are homeless, or heads of state, regardless of color, ethnic origin or religion, surviving is what we do.
We often go through daily activities with echoes of hidden agendas; opportunities to cope with our own emotional baggage. These often drive us in our decision making. Life at times can seem like an endless lull: tedious, boring, always the same, filled only with work or monotonous play.
But it’s not all doom and gloom. Some of us even like our jobs, careers. And our playtime can be simply that: just playtime.
Look at each image. Can you tell what else may be going on? Or is it really, just another day?
