The Sedona Experience

The Sedona Experience

During September, 2021, my wife, Jayne, and I made our third visit to Sedona. If you love red rocks, then this is the place for you! Most of the images in this book were taken during this time period. There are, however, a few other images from our previous visits in 2009 and 2015 scattered throughout this book.

Our Sedona experiences usually begin with a hiking exploration of the red rock canyons that surround this picturesque town. Oak Creek Village was the starting point for two of our three visits over the years. Bell Rock, Cathedral Rock, Boyton Canyon, Pink Jeep Tour of the petroglyphs at the Honanki Heritage Site represent the prominent sites we explored.

The ultimate way to really enjoy the spectacular views of these canyons is by helicopter! We were very fortunate to take a thirty-five minute ride that was both exhilarating yet smooth as silk at the hands of a very acomplished and knowledgeable pilot.

And of course, the South Rim of the Grand Canyon is just three hours away. We stayed one night in Tusayan. This enabled me to capture images that show the dramatic effects of the changing light from sunrise to sunset. Any in-person visit to this one of the original natural wonders of the world will leave you both humbled and feeling small.

These experiences are through my eyes captures of these spiritual and awe-inspiring locations.

Enjoy life!
